Our History

For more than 20 years, Children's Lighthouses across the U.S. have educated thousands of children while helping them grow and thrive. As an innovative early learning and childcare company, we revolutionized the curriculum for infants, toddlers and pre-school children to encourage them to become well-rounded learners.

Children's Lighthouse Franchise Company was established in Ft. Worth, Texas, in 1997 by Pat Brown and his brother Mike Brown. The Browns founded the business with the goal of providing educational daycare to families. Pat serves as Chairman and has more than 30 years of child care and business experience. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Texas Christian University.

Today, Pat and his nephew Michael Brown oversee strategic leadership and directly supervise operations, franchise development and marketing. In the last 20 years, the Brown family leadership has been paramount in both the growth of the brand and the development of its Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S℠ proprietary curriculum.

The dedication to innovation, family and transparency has allowed the Children's Lighthouse franchise system to expand rapidly. There are now more than 40 Children's Lighthouse early learning schools nationwide, with more than two dozen in development. Children's Lighthouse has been named "Best Places to Work" by both the Dallas and San Antonio Business Journals and has received a Franchise 500 designation by Entrepreneur magazine for its stability, financial strength and growth.

As Children's Lighthouse continues growing nationwide it continues to espouse one of its original goals: to give back to each local community. By committing to improving the lives of its families through early education, each franchise owner endeavors to help children and communities thrive for many years to come.
