Our school’s center director, Shelley Harris began her career in Early Childhood in 1995. Her first role was teaching toddlers for a few years. Eventually, she moved into teaching preschool and found that she was very skilled in teaching pre-kindergartners, especially when it came to reading and writing. This eventually led her to teaching Private Kindergarten at Children’s Lighthouse Saginaw in 2009. She would go on to earn her Early Childcare Administration Credential and become a licensed director through the state of Texas in 2014. Her most recent role, prior to becoming our school’s center director, was assistant center director. In this role, she helped to take our school through the accreditation process, mentor teachers and staff, and build a culture where providing a quality program is always a priority.

Mrs. Shelley lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Chuck, and their children, Gage, Ashlee and their dogs Bella and TJ. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, baking, binge watching crime shows, she loves watching scary movies, and online shopping.

When asked why she has chosen to be part of Children’s Lighthouse Saginaw she said, “From the moment I interviewed for Children’s Lighthouse Saginaw I could tell that the owner’s Karen and Chuck were passionate about providing a safe and loving learning environment for their school. I was beyond excited to know that I would be a part of a family-oriented school that placed education and care as the priority in everything that they do.”
