Children’s Lighthouse of O’Fallon was featured on KMOV-TV My St. Louis Live! to share engaging activities from our curriculum that help children stay sharp, creative, and curious this spring.
The segment highlighted hands-on projects that parents can easily try at home with their children, including:
Rainbow Weavers – Using paper plates, chenille stems, scissors, and crayons, children create colorful woven designs that strengthen fine motor skills and encourage creativity.
Plastic Egg Towers – With plastic eggs, playdough or clay, and a measuring tool, kids build towers and explore concepts of balance, measurement, and problem-solving.
DIY Seed Starters – Using egg cartons, soil, and seeds, children plant and care for seedlings, learning responsibility and gaining an introduction to life sciences.
These fun activities not only keep children engaged outside the classroom but also reinforce early STEM skills, creativity, and responsibility in playful, hands-on ways.
