Where Values Meet Learning

When parents begin searching for the right preschool or daycare, academics are often at the top of the checklist. Families want their children to learn letters, numbers, and the skills they’ll need for kindergarten. But there’s another part of early education that’s just as important — values.

At Children’s Lighthouse, we believe children deserve more than just academics in their preschool years. They deserve a program that nurtures the whole child — mind, heart, and character. That’s why our Lighthouse Pathways® curriculum and Character Value Friends™ program work hand in hand to create a learning experience that public Pre-K programs often can’t replicate.

Public Pre-K programs focus heavily on academics, preparing children with basic kindergarten

readiness skills. While this is important, it often leaves out the social-emotional side of learning.

At Children’s Lighthouse, our preschool curriculum blends traditional academics with hands-on

exploration, creative problem-solving, and social development. Children build confidence as they discover not just what to learn, but how to learn.

Each month, children are introduced to a new Character Value Friend™ — fun, engaging characters like Bailey the Bald Eagle, who teaches about being a good citizen, or other friends who model courage, respect, and cooperation.

Through stories, activities, and classroom discussions, children learn values that shape how they treat others, how they approach challenges, and how they see themselves. Parents often tell us their children come home talking about these lessons — carrying what they learn at school into family life.

The preschool years are a time of rapid growth, not only academically but emotionally and socially. Large public programs may not always have the resources to focus on both.

At Children’s Lighthouse, our smaller class ratios and caring teachers make it possible to focus on thewhole child. Every child is seen, supported, and encouraged — not only in their learning, but in how they build friendships, express themselves, and grow in confidence.

Parents who enroll in public Pre-K often find themselves adding daycare for after-school hours orarranging separate programs for enrichment. This can create stress and inconsistency for children.

At Children’s Lighthouse, families don’t have to piece together multiple programs. Our preschool and daycare offerings are all-inclusive: extended hours, healthy meals, enrichment, and a values-based curriculum all under one roof. Families gain the convenience of a single program, while children benefit from a consistent, nurturing environment every day.

Strong values aren’t just nice to have — they’re essential for future success. Children who learn

responsibility, empathy, and cooperation early on are better prepared to navigate school and life with confidence. By integrating academics with character development, Children’s Lighthouse gives children the tools to succeed not just in kindergarten, but in relationships, problem-solving, and leadership as they grow.

At Children’s Lighthouse, we’re proud to partner with families to raise children who are bright, kind, and confident. Our preschool and daycare programs combine strong academics with meaningful values — creating a foundation that lasts a lifetime.
